Who they are
Hassan Nasasra is a Balad candidate, educator and municipal politician from Rahat, where he lives. He has served as the city’s deputy mayor and headed Abu Ubaida school.
He took a bachelor’s degree in education and literature and a master’s in local government and public administration. He worked as a teacher and was serving on Rahat’s council by 2018. He resigned as deputy mayor in 2020 and was appointed again in 2024.
Positions and record
Policing: In March 2026, backed weapons collection and a sustained crime plan. Opposed Rahat’s Bayan neighbourhood closure, calling it collective punishment that burdens residents without reducing crime.
Land and housing: In June 2026, opposed home demolitions and land confiscation and called for stronger representation of Negev residents in political decisions.
Public services: In December 2024, called for police action against attacks on businesses and public facilities, and for residents to protect buses and shared infrastructure.
