Who they are
Gila Gamliel-Demri was born in 1974 and entered the Knesset in 2003, chairing the Committee on the Status of Women. She was a deputy minister in the Prime Minister's Office from 2009, then held the social equality, environmental protection and intelligence portfolios in turn. She has been minister of innovation, science and technology since 2024.

Climate: Wrote Israel's first climate bill and backed a long-term zero-carbon and renewables target.
Gaza's future: Wrote in 2023 that the world should fund resettling Gazans abroad rather than rebuilding.
